The tour that brings Munich to you.Our expert guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historic centre of town, the
beautiful old world Altstadt ("Old Town"), and show you the sites and tell you the stories. This is an orientation tour. It’s designed to be practical, entertaining and informative. Join us on a pleasant stroll through streets that contain more than 800 years of history and culture. Munich is Germany’s most loved city for good reason. It is beautiful, charming, relaxed, friendly – and just happens to brew the best beer in the
world . We’ll give you our insider tips on where to go and what to see, the best places to eat and drink, how to use the public transport system, and show you the best of the city. We’ll answer any questions you have – what’s going on in town during your stay? – How to use the public transport system? And we’ll do this while giving you a light-hearted and humorous introduction to Munich and Bavaria’s
history and culture. Munich has been home to some of the most colourful characters in German history, from the notorious and charismatic Lola Montez, who seduced a king and helped provoke a revolution, to the legendary “mad” King Ludwig II – only one of a famous line of ruling “Ludwigs”, such as Ludwig der Bayer, who became Holy Roman Emperor or Ludwig I,
the king responsible for much of the architectural glory of today’s city. And so much to see. The world famous Glockenspiel on the tower of the stunning neo-gothic Rathaus, the imposing towers of the 15th century Frauenkirche cathedral, the splendour of the beautifully restored St Peter’s church, the bustle and variety of the legendary Viktualienmarkt, the celebrated Hofbräuhaus
beer hall, and the grandeur of the plazas and gardens of Royal Munich – we’ll show you it all, the absolutely distinctive mixture of medieval charm, baroque glamour and neo-classical elegance that only Munich can offer. Our guides are all long-term residents of Munich and all of them are very enthusiastic about the city they call home. Let them share their enthusiasm with you. |
